Tacoronte is easily accessible by the autobahn/autopista norte and therefore is one of the most recommended places to visit on Tenerife. In this agriculturally characterised area in the North of Tenerife a splendid wine is produced. There is also a very old golf course in Tacoronte which was established by Brits in 1932 - it is the 18-hole course "Real Club de golf de Tenerife" - and it has its individual charme still today.
To discover the vineyards in the beauiful hilly landscape around Tacoronte with its marvellous garden is really recommended - although, you better do so before the wine tasting. There are always great viewpoints, from where you can take a look onto the volcanic landscape with the Teide and the green valley between Tacoronte and Bajamar. In the historic old town of Tacoronte you find the Plaza del Christo and the beautiful church Cristo de Los Dolores. The original Franciscan Order owns a precious art collection with paintings, frescos and a more than 300 year-old statue of Jesus. On the forecourt of the church the annual wine awards of Tenerife take place. The wines are awarded according to year, quality and area of cultivation.Furthermore, you can visit one of Tenerifes most beautiful farmer markets in Tacoronte.

It is an eldorado of historic argricultural machinery, especially for wine cultivation. The exhibition is quite worth it and the friendly staff answers any question you might have.
