Poris de Abona - perfect for a relaxing holiday at the sea

The village of Poris de Abona is about 20km north from Airport Tenerife South and it is about 35km from here to Santa Cruz de Tenerife. This beautiful village at the coast has kept its original charme of a fishing village, especially in its centre. At the promenade of Pors de Abona you will find a natural beach, which is mainly visited by locals. There is also a sand beach close to the lighthouse, where nudism is also allowed. There are some little shops, diving schools and restaurants there. Traditional canaric food is available there. So are some private holiday apartments and holiday houses.

The centre of the village:

Unadulterated is the older part of Poris de Abona - right at the sea. Partly with sand, party mixed pebbles and stones - this beach is also unadulterated. Nothing has changed during the decades and life is still going on its relaxed way - just as a century ago. In the evening you find fishermen sitting ag on the quay wall - waiting to catch a fish. Fishing is allowed for everyone here - also for tourists.

Punta de Abona:

A bit aside of the village is Punta de Abona and the light house, which is almost the icon of Poris de Abona. It is just a short walk here from Poris, and you will encounter a sand nbeach and crystal clear water here. If you want to sunbathe without getting any white stripes, you can do so here, it is an official nudism beach.This beach is also more suitable for children than the one in Poris. If you want to be a bit more secluded - there are some rocky niches right at the beach.
