Guía de Isora

Guía de Isora - Chira valley - southeast Tenerife

If you follow the mountain road from Playa de las Américas to Santiago del Teide, you'll get past Guía de Isora in the middle of an agricultural centre. In recent times, the attractive small town has grown and now, many shops and restaurants characterize the town. Apart from that, you find here everyday necessities.

Near at hand, there are wonderful pine woods, standing in the lava landscape of the national park. During a trip from Guía de Isora up to Las Cañadas del Teide, you get past several viewpoints, from where you can see all of the natural beauty of the south of Tenerife.
Friends of climbing are not far away from the popular climbing regions in the Cañadas and the Parque National del Teide.
In Guía de Isora, there are many local restaurants where you can eat at a low price. Mostly, the quality is considerably better than in the tourist centres, despite the low prices.

The Chira valley lies a bit below Guía de Isora, ca. 450 m above sea level. This region is not a separate town, but a valley full of barrancos with some fincas, a camping site and agriculture.
Some fincas in the Chira valley also offer individual holidays in private holiday homes.

You can reach the coastal towns below and the beaches Playa San Juan, Playa Los Gigantes, Alcalá, Playa La Caleta in 15-20 minutes by car.
