Romantic beach "Playa de San Marcos" in the north of Tenerife

Playa San Marcos is a marvellous beach in the north of Tenerife in the municipality of Icod de los Vinos.

Many tourists do not even know that part of the beach. It is embedded in a securing, wildly romantic rocky bay and fascinates all its visitors with black lava sand. Since there are life-guards on-location this place is really safe. The restaurants are recommendable and equipment (loungers and sunshades) is available.

The beach

The approach into the sea is gentle. Playa de San Marcos is the most beautiful within the area of  Icod de los Vinos. Although, one will meet here almost only local visitors.

The village of Playa San Marcos

Playa San Marcos does not have any mass tourism. There are some hotels and apartment buildings, as well as some private holiday apartments. Otherwise the village is quite small. A day on the beach in Playa San Marcos is very recommendable, if you are within the region of Icod de los Vinos. The beach is marvellous, quite deserted and therefore offers an atmosphere of relaxation to read a book or simply to dream away.
